On my casualty (ER) duty; by abut 3 pm a 9 year old child was brought to our department. She had long hair, sharp nose and an expressionless face, yet she was beautiful. She was not taking food for two days and yesterday she stopped talking. At first parents dismissed it as behavioral problem. Later she was not able to open her mouth (trismus) and her body was arched (opisthotonus position). Parents were uneducated and thought that the symptoms might be due to dog bite, which is quite common in our part of the country.
Later we diagnosed that Sandra is suffering from tetanus. We examined her body and found a small wound in the toe, which may be the culprit. All along the hospital stay we noticed that her parents were not giving the needed care. We decided to give Sandra Tetglob (tetanus immunoglobulin) and asked her parents to buy it according to our hospital policy. But they refused to buy it! (Not because of any religious reasons or financial constrains). So we got Tetglob from our medical store and administered it. (The parents didn’t resist this).
We suspect that Sandra was a neglected child.
Later that night Sandra died.
Who killed Sandra? Tetanus or her parents?
Aren't we lucky, to have great parents?

Oh my God, this bought a tear to my eye :(
Clearly she is a neglected child. May her soul rest in peace. I am sure she is finally happy in Heaven.
I prayed for the parents, they have an another child. May our good God forgive them.
